Client: Extendicare Scarborough Retirement Home
Location: Scarborough, ON | March 2025
This mural transforms a retirement home’s dining room into a nostalgic movie haven. Framed by rich, red theater curtains, it centers on a vintage 1960s TV showcasing a scene from Casablanca, a beloved movie in this home. Aside the TV, two pillars feature painted movie reels, with the film’s famous characters brought to life.
Painting this piece meant balancing cinematic elegance with a touch of realism. The TV is so lifelike that one resident thought it was real!! As the dining room doubles as a screening space, the mural enhances each movie night, blending the charm of classic cinema with the comfort of a shared space.
