Step into a world of vibrant tradition and celebration with this stunning mural at Kennedy Lodge!
Just in time for Chinese New Year, I had the incredible opportunity to transform the third floor of this retirement home with a breathtaking depiction of a traditional Chinese temple. Set as the first thing you see when stepping out of the elevator, this mural has become the focal point of the space, greeting residents, staff and visitors with warmth and beauty.
The director envisioned something that would resonate with the many Chinese residents, and the results couldn’t have been more rewarding. Using a vivid palette of reds—a color symbolizing luck, happiness, and prosperity—and layering intricate, colorful details, I created a piece that feels alive with cultural significance.
The residents were thrilled, and their smiles and excitement truly made this project unforgettable. Whether they were stopping by to chat about the mural or sitting nearby admiring as I'm working, their reactions brought the artwork to life in a whole new way.
From the ornate temple details to the bold, auspicious reds, this mural radiates joy and cultural pride, making it one of my most cherished projects to date.
